duskclan

camp

The Duskclan camp is hidden in a cove on the beach. Steep cave filled cliffs line three sides, with the last being open to the ocean. A thin path winds up through one of the caves at the back of the camp to the surface, providing an easily defensible entrance to the camp. The tide ebbs and flows, revealing paths to other nearby coves when low, and providing strong protection from invaders when high.

At back of the camp, furthest from the water, the medics den hides beneath a strange twoleg object. The Duskclan cats usually see similar objects being used to float on the water, but this one was found turned over on the beach many moons ago. Now, the strange object is covered in other twoleg objects, and it has become a mundane sight in the camp. Beneath the domed surface of the twoleg object, a cool, dug out hollow of sand preserves herbs, muffles the chaotic sounds of the camp for sick cats, and keeps Crabstripe dry in the harshest weather.

Beside the twoleg Medic den is a crack in the cliffs, hidden behind grass and collections of twoleg objects. Within this crack is a comfortable den for queens and their kits. Further down the beach, a piece of driftwood creates a protective dome over the Apprentices den, though dry sand often finds its way through the tunnel, making apprentices have to dig themselves out nearly every day.

Even further down the beach, in a larger cave, the Warriors den looks out over the whole clan. Across from the warriors den, the cliff has a shelf, which houses both the leader and the elders. On top of the shelf, the leader has full view of the clan and the ocean, along with access to mist-pools closer to the ocean. To access the Leaders den, cats need to scramble up the sandy cliffs, finding small ledges that seem to move every day. Below the shelf, a comfortably sized cave houses the elders, close to the Leader so they can help advise in times of trouble.

The Leaders shelf is where the leader calls the clan to meetings, though they do ocassionally meet with the clan further up the beach, away from the loud ocean. The fresh-kill pile lays on an ever-changing pile of seaweed, keeping their food cool and away from the sand.

leader and deputy

Shellstar (above) and Shadowfin (left) maintain a friendly relationship, though they aren't particularly close. Shellstar knows her limits, especially how much of her apprenticship she missed, and chose Shadowfin as deputy because of his in depth knowledge of Clan tradition and close relationships with the wise elders.

As a kit, Shellstar was tragically taken by the twolegs. She fought to return, finally making her way back to the clan the day after her littermates became full warriors. Devistated to be so behind on her training, she dedicated herself entirely to training and learning the warrior code. Her understanding of twolegs has made it easier for the Duskclan warriors to avoid their traps, and her dedication to her clan made her an obvious choice as the next leader.

Shadowfin can often be found staring into the oceans mist, reading the signs from the stars. He's been close to the elders since he was born, as his mother was an elder and returned to the den far earlier than most expected. He admires their experience and is very invested in the history and traditions of the clan. His training was uneventful, and anyone who tells kits of the time he jumped from the leaders den on to the back of a seal is entirely fibbing.

medic

Crabstripe (right) is fascinated by twolegs. He has contributed greatly to the nursery and medic den collections of twoleg objects, and can often be found reorganizing the objects into just the right places. He has a deep connection with starclan, often wandering through the territories, following the scent of a long-dead cat as they bring her to the rarest herbs. Being the medic has always been Crabstripes dream, he loves the position and is very excited to take an apprentice within the next few moons.

smokewatchers

Dolphinspring (left) and Sunpaw (below) really don't get along the greatest. Dolphinspring believes Sunpaw doesn't take the position seriously, while also desperately wanting him to enjoy his apprenticeship far more than he is. Sunpaw doesn't mind, knowing Dolphinsprings apprenticeship wasn't happy, but does wish she wouldn't take it out on him as much as she does. However, Sunpaw keeps his chin up, and is breaking down Dolphinsprings walls, finally making her look back on her life with pride in her journey.

Dolphinspring has always dreamed of being the perfect clan cat. She practiced her fighting and knew the warrior code inside and out before even leaving the nursery. She was determined to rise through the ranks, going from Warrior to Deputy to Leader through hard work, earning the trust of her clan. However, life wasn't so kind to her. The former Smokewatcher, Otternose, fell suddenly ill, and knew she needed to take on an apprentice before she left the physical world. Dolphinspring was the only kit of apprentice age at the time, and was chosen by default. She's been resentful ever since, though as she's grown she's come to appreciate her skills and experiences as a Smokewatcher.

Sunpaw (eventually Sunpatch) is so excited to be a smokewatcher! He was born only a few days before Dolphinspring returned to camp for a break, and his first memories were watching her tell tales of the adventures she had and the cats she met. He wanted to do that too! Actually being apprenticed to Dolphinspring seemed to be a dream at first, but Dolphinsprings' bitter attitude has put him off slightly. She's been cheering up recently, which has made her training so much more fun. Sunpaw does miss being with the clan all the time, but Apprentices have more breaks than full Smokewatchers, letting him catch up with his littermates and friends every few days. His passion for Smokewatching has never dimmed, and he is so excited to finally be a full Smokewatcher.
